Perhaps the greatest Japanese restaurant in New York City and certainly the most innovative. Don`t wimp out and order the usual sushi. Go "omakase" and let the chef choose your meal (just let your server know your price range). Here an inkling of what`s to come: tiradito (perhaps), raw slices of whitefish marinated in yuzu (ask them) and lemon juice, dotted with hot pepper paste and served with cilantro. The experience will set you back a few bucks, but the place is always packed, which tells you something.
Best known for its extensive list of exotic sushis, this place focuses on Japanese food especially known for sushi. Expect the average entrée to cost over $30, and there`s a prix-fixe menu at $70 per person.
