William J. Poirier -- Sonsie, Boston
A native New Englander, Bill Poirier has reached national prominence during a sixteen year career that began with his culinary training at Johnson and Wales University in 1978. Highlights have included several years in kitchens of Luxury Hotel Resorts all over the eastern seaboard followed by four years as the executive chef for the nationally acclaimed Seasons restaurant at the Bostonian Hotel. During Bill Poirier's tenure, the Season's received numerous awards including a four and one half star rating, the People's Choice Award - Best Restaurant in 1987, and Nation's Restaurant News 1987 Fine Dining Hall of Fame. Poirier has also been inducted into the James Beard House, which is known as the "Academy Awards" for chefs all over the world. Most recently, Chef Poirier comes to Sonsie after a three-year tenure as sous chef under Lydia Shire at the award winning BIBA restaurant. Sonsie is proud of the continued achievements of Bill Poirier and is blessed with such a culinary artist. |
